No news is good news
At least that's what I always tell people when they don't hear from me in a month or so.
Indeed it has been a while since I signed up for live journal. I thought it was about time to put up a genuine posting. So here I am.
When last we left our fateful hero Mitchell he had finished up the semester at NCSU with two days left on the count down for going postal on everyone at school. Boy did he need a brake.
And I got one. For ten days in May I traveled the West Coast. I saw the Space Needle in Seattle, went to a Dodgers game in LA and drank a goodly amount of beer and wine along the way. While in LA my friends and I drove up the PCH to Santa Barbara and saw the mission there as well as went to a couple vineyards. I did go and see the requisite Hollywood walk of fame and Mann's Chinese Theatre. Of course after seeing Michael Bolton's Star as well as Kenny G's star I really think it should be the walk of shame. My favorite part was seeing that someone had properly added the f-word in front of Kenny G's name on his star. Oh and I had the privilege of driving through West Hollywood and seeing such stores as the "Out of the Closet Thrift Shop" and "Gaymart". (Note to self: stir clear of west hollywood)
Two weeks after returning from the Pacific Coast I headed for the Atlantic Coast and spent a week with the family at the beach. That was as always a lot of fun. I did mention to my mother that I would love to spend more than a week at the beach but I would have to think long and hard about spending two weeks with the family. Sometimes my dad and I can be too much a like. Still it was a great time. My brother, sister-in-law and niece came down and spent the week with us. That was the best part. I love my niece. She is the best. Today she turned 3 years old. I love her so much. Everyday she would splash around in the ocean and smile so big you couldn't help but to catch her smile.
As usual the water at Nags Head, NC was so cold you had to check to make sure everything was still there after you got out of the water. As a result when I returned on Saturday and headed down to the pool at my apartment complex to cool off from unloading the car I found the water to be also bath water it was so warm in comparison. That was nice and relaxing.
Well that about brings us up to date. This afternoon I resumed my search for a summer job and finally called the number that I had avoided for quite sometime because I knew what was in store. I was down to my last ditch effort so I called. On the end of the phone I heard, "Every day's a happy day at Vector. How may I direct your call." Yes and for those that haven't put it together yet I am now a salesman, sorry representative, for Vector Marketing which sells CUTCO knives. The best part is the big boss for our office is Larry Manley. It was everything I could do not to laugh every time the interview talked about Mr Manley. That is just icing on the cake. For now I am glad I can say that I am gainfully employed. Thursday I start training. Yippee!!!
